What is Beaver Scouting?
Our Beaver Colony is for boys and girls aged 6-8.
We have a maximum of 24 children at a time and due to popularity we have a waiting list. You can add your child’s name to this list via our contact page.
We meet at the BP Shell Scout Centre on a Thursday between 5.15 and 6.30, although in the summer term (Easter – July) we often meet at Willesley Campsite between 6.00 and 7.15.
We are always looking for help from adults, all of whom are CRB checked and who must complete the Scout Association’s award winning training programme.
Presently the leadership consists of:
- Panda: Alex Hawkins
- Giraffe: Chris Jameson (when not at Uni!)
- Rabbit: Katie Hawkins
- Flamingo: Amy Watts
- Fox: Tom Bagley (Young Leader)
- Alex Skea
- Ken Coke
- Mole: John Leake (Scout Fellowship, assists with Cubs too)
- Bear: Jonathan Bloor (Group Scout Leader).
Parents with specific skills or hobbies are encouraged to give a little time to share this with the children. In the coming weeks we have someone who works with animals helping to complete a badge and a textiles teacher helping the children to tie-dye T-shirts.
