March 2005 News Letter
Thanks to all those of you who kindly made donations to the Tsunami appeal. The response far exceed our expectations. When the packing was finally completed, the church was over one third filled with boxes and the gatehouse was full. The Gatehouse contents was transported to Birmingham where they too were surprised by the amount, we filled their container and left many boxes in their Scout hut. The Contents of the church will be shipped out in the near future when transport can be arranged to take it to a container in Telford.
13th March Ashby 20 Water Station.
This event in organised by the Ivanhoe runners, we assist in areas where they are short handed, normally the water stations. The Scouts line the roadside at various points around the route and hand water to the runners. Only three Scouts turned up last year, hopefully we will be better supported this time round.
15th – 17th April Dovedale – Backpacking Week end.
This is a lightweight camping weekend where the Scouts will work in teams, hiking and carrying all they need for the weekend. The younger Scouts have the option of just doing the hike. Please complete and return the form below if your son wishes to take part.
