January News

Congratulations to our swimming team who swept the board at the district swimming gala held at the Hermitage Leisure Centre in December. They were placed in all events except one and came away with the trophy and many certificates.

The planning for Summer Camp in Jersey is well on its way, the site, flights, ferry and mini bus are all booked and the activity program is well on its way. Please note a slight change in the dates. We are now flying from the East Midlands Airport on Tuesday the 7th (not Monday the 6th as was previously published) which means we will be returning on Tuesday 14th. The change in dates enabled us to get a block of cheaper flights. A program of fund raising events is being done and will be published soon.

It may not be to late to go on this camp for those who have not yet signed up. If there are flights available on the dates we are going, you can still come. The price may vary if the flights have gone up.

4th Ashby Scouting Program 2007

Our program for 2007 is attached. Some dates are already booked others like Sky High and ‘Try It’ are dependant on places being available. These dates are not set in stone and are subject to change.

Ben Nevis is leaders activity, I challenged my younger leaders to get me to the top some time ago, this is the make or break weekend for all concerned. The Wye Valley canoe camp is open to those who join the Scout canoe club (Hotdoggers) based at the OPC in Leicester. The club operates on a Monday evening from April to October; I will take any Scouts who are interested, ideally those who gained their one star award at canoe camp last year. Please complete the form below so I can get some idea of Scouts who are interested. There are seven seats in the Bongo, any more than that will require a parent to assist me with transport.
